In commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary, the City of Shelby cordially invites you to attend a special America 250 Tree Dedication Ceremony at Hanna Park.
Wednesday, July 1, 2026 - 10:00 a.m.
Hanna Park
1655 McBrayer Springs Road
Shelby, NC 28150
The original Liberty Tree—an American Elm planted by the Sons of Liberty in Boston in 1646—stood for 129 years as a powerful symbol of freedom and resistance.
The elm tree being planted at Hanna Park is a species capable of living for hundreds of years. May it stand as a lasting symbol of freedom, strength, and unity for our generation—and generations to come.
We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful dedication ceremony.
