The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for our area from Friday, January 30, 4 pm, until Sunday, February 1, 7 am. Snow is expected to impact our area, and accumulations can make roads treacherous and potentially cause power outages.
If you are a City of Shelby customer and experience a power outage during the storm, you may report it by phone or online. Follow the instructions below for reporting an outage.
Via Phone:
Call 704-484-6866 (This number is for reporting a power outage. Dial 911 if you experience a medical or other emergency situation.)
Select Option 1 for English and Option 2 for Spanish
Then select Option 1 to Report an Electric Outage
Next, select Option 1 to confirm your address
Lastly, select Option 1 to confirm your call-back number
(You will get an update call-back confirming power has been restored.)
Via Internet: (Computer, Mobile Device or Tablet)
Click here and click on the “Power Outage” button and follow the on-screen instructions.
This screen also provides information such as the number of outages, whether an outage has been reported in your area, and when power has been restored to an area.
