The Marketing and Promotions Specialist performs work involved in developing and implementing utility marketing plans for the City of Shelby Energy Services Department.  Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and dynamic marketing and creative strategies for the department; utilizing print, broadcast, digital and social media communications; identifying new marketing and creative initiatives with the focus of growing brand awareness and other deliverables; developing, executing, managing and overseeing creative activities and projects (inclusive of posters, brochures, bill inserts, campaigns and other printed materials, as well as social media campaigns); developing creative and marketing-related messaging and ad copy; developing and executing growth plan objectives and budgets; building goals and key targets that are measurable for completion and effectiveness; developing and following through on marketing initiatives to ensure goals are met; analyzing performance metrics; establishing and maintaining testing of marketing campaigns and initiatives; and staying abreast of the latest creative/marketing trends and implement pertinent trends.

Hours: Monday – Friday, first shift but will require flexibility to work evenings, nights and/or weekends as needed.

To Compete in the Selection Process:

Successful candidate must be a self-starter and possess a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, graphic design or related field with exceptional written and verbal skills.  Other qualifications include excellent computer, graphic and web design skills to include Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite and/or other relevant creative program skills; thorough knowledge of brand strategy and development techniques; and demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
