Natural Gas Compliance Coordinator

The Natural Gas Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal and State mandated pipeline safety regulations involving natural gas.  This includes planning, developing and presenting training programs to ensure employee compliance with mandated regulations relating to utility operations; supervising  assigned personnel; assigning, directing, training, and inspecting the work of staff; developing staff schedules; updating and maintaining the gas divisions federally required written operator qualifications plan, O & M manual, Public Awareness Plan, Distribution Integrity Management Plan, and procedures; serving as contact for NCUC inspectors to coordinate audits; ensuring that data is ready for the audits; utilizing database to track system data and preparing audit reports; working with management team and outside consultants to ensure understanding of regulations; maintaining all files associated with the gas system; participating in APGA, SGA, and CPGA; scheduling all training for the department; performing monthly and quarterly downloads from SCADA;  and participating in public awareness activities.

Hours:  Full-time, first shift hours. 

To Compete in the Selection Process:

Knowledge of gas main installations, service lines, CP systems, gas regulator stations and knowledge and understanding of all gas appurtenances. Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret federal, state, and local utility regulations; thorough knowledge of training principles and techniques; thorough knowledge of the capabilities and use of audiovisual aids and other training tools and resources proficient in Microsoft Office applications; ability to develop, organize, and coordinate training activities; ability to evaluate and maintain accurate manuals and records; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a  bachelor’s degree  with major course work in industrial engineering, natural or environmental sciences or related field with considerable experience in public utility operation and compliance.
