The Shelby Police Department Vice/Narcotics Unit is made up of one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, and four Detectives.  This unit is responsible for the investigation of illegal drug activity within the City of Shelby.  Investigators in this unit are specially trained to conduct these investigations utilizing specialized techniques.  In some cases it is easy to identify suspects involved in illegal drug sales.   In other situations, long, articulate investigations are required which may employ the use of confidential informants, undercover officers, and the general cooperation of our community.  These Detectives work closely with our Federal counterparts in their investigations.

Detectives assigned to this division also conduct drug awareness presentations to local groups, upon request.
