April 19, 2013--During the annual NC Department of Labor Safety Awards banquet, Commissioner of Labor Cherie Berry presented the Shelby Police Department with the Second Consecutive Year Gold Safety Award. This award is present to organizations that have demonstrated safety within their organization and have an accident rate of at least 50% below the average for their industry.
Each year, families all across our Nation fall victim to residential burglaries and larcenies. As a victim, one of the most vital pieces of information you can provide the investigating officer is a description of the property, to include a model and serial number. With this information, law enforcement can track the items taken, and oftentimes locate the items when the suspect attempts to sell or pawn the stolen property.
Attached is a Household Valuables Inventory you can use to track the make, model, and serial number of valuables in your home. By taking an inventory of these items, you can greatly increase the likelihood of this property being located if you become a victim of one of these crimes. This sheet was developed by our Criminal Investigations Division.
