SHELBY-12 VS ROCKY MOUNT NATIONAL-2

Grant Byers was the winning pitcher allowing 1 hit and striking out 9 for Shelby. Thomas Weaver, Ben Gold and Jackson Mims led Shelby at the plate with 2 hits each. Byers, Luke Hayek, Will Bryant and Jalen Byrd also had hits for Shelby. Khali Macklin had the only hit for Rock Mount National.

SHELBY-7 ROCKY MOUNT NATIONAL-5

Garrett Gamble picked up the win for Shelby in the Championship Game. Chandler Young came in the 5th inning for the save. Thomas Weaver, Jackson Mims, Will Bryant and Gamble led Shelby at the plate with 2 hits each. Jarren Byrd, Jacob Hamrick, Grant Byers and Bradford Lail also had a hit each for Shelby. David Williams and Ben Yates each had 2 hits to lead Rocky Mount National.

Saturday, August 9th (Game 4)

6:00PM (F1) Shelby-13 vs Clayton-3

Winning Pitcher: Chandler Young, Thomas Weaver and Will Bryant had 3 hits each and Ben Gold had 2 hits including a Homerun and Chandler Young had 2 hits and Jacob Hamrick and Grant Byers and Jackson Mims and Jarren Byrd had 1 hit each to lead Shelby. Jay Hamrick had 1 hit and Cody Daniels had a Homerun to pace Clayton.

Saturday, August 9th (Game 3)

4:00PM (F1) Shelby-2 vs Rocky Mount National-4

Winning Pitcher: Chase Roupp, Khalil Macklin had 2 hits including a Homerun and David Williams had a Homerun and Dimaggio Silver had 1 hit each to lead Rocky Mount National. Will Bryant had 2 hits and Ben Gold had a Homerun and Grant Byers and Jackson Mims and Chandler Young had 1 hit each to pace Shelby.

Friday, August 8th (Game 2)

4:00PM (F 2) Shelby-18 vs Erwin-2

Winning Pitcher:Bradford Lail, Grant Byers had 3 hits and Garrett Gamble had 2 hits including a Homerun and Chandler Young and Thomas Weaver had 2 hits each and Jackson Mims and Bradford Lail had a Homerun each and Jalen Byrd and Jarren Byrd and Jacob Hamrick and Ben Gold and Luke Hayek had 1 hit each to lead Shelby. Tyler Tyndall and Dillon Stewart and Adam Britt and Caleb Brown had 1 hit each to pace Erwin.

Thursday, August 7th (Game 1)

6:00PM (F1) Shelby-14 vs Williamston-8

Winning Pitcher: Jackson Mims, Garrett Gamble had 3 hits including a Homerun and Chandler Young and Jalen Byrd had 2 hits each and Grant Byers and Will Bryant and Ben Gold and Bradford Lail had 1 hit each and Thomas Weaver had a Homerun to lead the Shelby Allstars.

Lawrence Smith had 3 hits including a Homerun and and Donovan Brown and had 2 hits including a Homerun and Brandon Chesson and Zach Howell and Kyle Leggett and D.J. Beach had 1 hit each to pace Williamston.

Monday, July 14th

8:00PM Shelby-11 vs Alexander Gold-0

Winning Pitcher: Grant Byers, had 6 ks and teamed with Jackson Mims and Will Bryant for the shutout. Thomas Weaver and Garrett Gamble and Bradford Lail had Homeruns and Ben Gold and Grant Byers had 2 hits each to lead Shelby. Shelby will move on to play Valdese.

Tuesday, July 15th

8:00PM Shelby-21 vs Valdese-0

Winning Pitcher:Bradford Lail, teamed with Garrett Gamble and Jarren Byrd to pitch a no hitter and record the shutout. Grant Byers had 4 hits and Jackson Mims had 3 hits. Shelby will now play Morganton.

Wednesday, July 16th

8:00PM Shelby-12vs Morganton-3

Winning Pitcher: Chandler Young, had help from Jalen Byrd and Grant Byers. to get the win for Shelby. Thomas Weaver had 2 hits including a Homerun and Jarren Byrd and Chandler Young had 2 each to lead Shelby to the win. Shelby will now play Hickory Allstars in the Championship Game.

Thursday, July 17th

***CHAMPIONSHIP GAME***

6:00PM Shelby-16 vs Hickory-1

Winning Pitcher: Garrett Gamble, had 4 ks. Garrett Gamble also had 2 Homeruns and Grant Byers had 3 hits including a Homerun and Thomas Weaver had 2 hits including a Homerun and Chandler Young had 2 hits to lead Shelby at the plate. Shelby Allstars 2008 Western Youth Athletic Association Tournament Midget League 11 & 12 year old Champions.

Shelby City Park Little Tar Heel All-Stars will be the Host team as Shelby City Park Host the Little Tar Heel League State Tournament Thursday, August 7th - Sunday, August 10th.
