***CHAMPIONSHIP GAME***

Shelby-4 Wilder's Grove-3

Trey Adams pitched a complete game striking out 7 batters to lead Shelby to the State Championship in Hickory. Lucas Owens and Nick Triplett had 2 hits each for Shelby. Evan Loaces hit a 2 run Home Run in the top of the 5th to break a 2-2 tie and give Shelby the lead for good. Adams also contributed a double while Will Earls and Mark McFarland added hits for Shelby.

Saturday, August 2nd (Game 3)

Shelby-19 Johnston Co-6

Winning Pitcher: Will Earls, also led Shelby at the plate with 4 hits, Nick Triplett had 3 hits and Ryley Smith had 2 hits and Patrick Bowman had a Homerun and Lucas Owens and Mark McFarland and Hayden Dotson and Elijah Biggerstaff had 1 hit each and Evan Loaces had a tripple to lead Shelby on offense. Shelby will now play in the Championship Game Sunday, at 2:00PM. against the winner of Johnston Co & Wilders Grove.

Friday, August 1st (Game 2)

Shelby - 7  Wilder's Grove - 4

Shelby picked up its second win of the day and remained unbeaten by downing Wilder's Grove 7-4. Winning pitcher was Trey Adams and leading hitters were Mark McFarland with a home-run, Nick Triplett with 2-hits, Patrick Bowman with 2-hits, Lucas Adams and Trey Adams had 1-hit each.

Shelby will now face unbeated Johnston County Saturday at 4:00 PM.

Friday, August 1st (Resumed from Thursday night)

Shelby - 5  Williamston - 3

The Shelby All-Stars won their first game in the State Tournament by stopping Williamston

5-3. Winning pitcher was Will Earls and the offense was led by Nick Triplett with 3-hits, Ryley Smith with 2-hits and Weston Bradley with 2-hits. Shelby Will now face Wilder's Grove in the 2:00 PM winner's bracket game.

Shelby-15 Granite Falls-5

Nick Triplett picked up the win on the mound for Shelby. Trey Adams hit a Home Run and had 3 hits. Mark McFarland, Weston Bradley, Nick triplett and Patrick Bowman also had 2 hits each for Shelby. Justin Evans took the loss for Granite Falls who were led at the plate by Justin Evans with 2 hits.
