Shelby Gymnastics is an educational, non-competitive gymnastics program for children ages one through young adult. Classes are held in 6-week sessions that approximately follow the school calendar. Students attend classes once a week. A $60.00 fee is charged each session, due at the first class of each session. There is a $5.00 discount for siblings. Parent-Toddler class is $40.00 and is excluded from the sibling discount. All checks should be made payable to: Shelby Gymnastics.

All classes are held at the City Park Community Center in the Gymnastics Room which is outfitted with a 40' x 40' spring floor, uneven bars, balance beams, tumble-trak, vault, mini-tramp, rings and various skill building mats and learning aids.

Parent-Toddler Class - Meets Friday's from 9:00AM - 9:45PM for one and two year olds and must be accompanied by an adult who also participates. 45 minutes.

Tiny-Tots Class - Meets Tuesday's from 5:30PM - 6:15PM or Thursday's from 3:15PM - 4:00PM. These classes are for three and four year olds beginning gymnastics geared towards pre-schoolers. Friday Morning class from 9:45AM til 10:30AM. This class is for 2.5 to 3 year olds with adult participation. Class times lasting 45 minutes.

Beginner Class - Meets Tuesday's from 3:30PM - 4:30PM or Thursday's from 5:00PM - 6:00PM and is for school age children with little or no experience. 1 hour.

Novice Class I - meets on Wednesday's from 3:30PM - 4:30PM and Novice II meets on Thursday's from 4:00PM - 5:00PM and is for somewhat experienced children. 1 hour.

Intermediate Class - meet on Wednesday's from 4:30PM - 5:30PM and is for those that have mastered the basics. 1 hour.

Advanced Class - meets on Tuesday's from 4:30PM - 5:30PM and is for perfecting handsprings and more advanced skills. 1 hour.

Elite Class - meets on Wednesday's from 5:30PM - 6:30PM and is by invitation only.   

1 hours.

Instructor: Dorothy Houlditch serves as the program director and head instructor. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Physical Education and has been involved with gymnastics as a competitor, judge, coach or instructor for over 40 years, the past 32 at City Park as Gymnastics Supervisor. She is USA Gymnastics Certified, Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certified, a member of the USA Gymnastics.
