Shelby Parks and Recreation : friends of the parks
The Friends Of The Parks will host the first annual Royster Memorial Golf Course benefit tournament Saturday, June 9th. The format will be captain's choice with a blind draw. A free lunch will be provided to all participants, and others may purchase lunch by making a donation.
The majority of the procceeds will go to golf course improvements. For more information call Steve Sherman at 704-484-6823.

In the fall of 2010, a group of interested citizens met with City of Shelby officials to discuss the feasibility of forming a group to financially support Shelby Parks and Recreation programs and facilities outside of the normal operating budget of the City.
Because of traditions and the importance of the parks to our community, they decided to create the "Friends Of The Parks" organization with the full support of Mayor Ted Alexander and Shelby City Council.

Donate your gently used sports equipment to the Friends of the Parks to be distributed to youth sports participants. Examles include cleats, tennis shoes, gloves, socks and any other useable equipment you may have
