Shelby Parks and Recreation : Bill Lynn field

On November 7, 2011 Shelby City Council approved a recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to rename the American League Baseball Field at City Park to "Bill Lynn Field". Coach Lynn spent some 35 years coaching the Optimist Club Little League Baseball Team and 30 years leading the Graham Elementary School Green Wave Football Team.

During his career as a volunteer youth sports coach, Coach Lynn touched the lives of hundreds of players and was credited by Mayor Ted Alexander and City Council for his unselfish commitment of time to the youth and service to the community.

The formal dedication ceremony will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 5:00pm at Bill Lynn Field (Formerly the American League Baseball Field) and the public is invited.
