Mrs. Patterson was elected to Ward 3 in October 2003 and re-elected in October 2007 and October 2011. She is a Shelby native and a graduate of Shelby High School. Mrs. Patterson is a North Carolina Real Estate Broker and the Office Manager of Foothills Consulting. She is a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Patterson and her husband, Jack, have a daughter, Sheri, who lives in Shelby and a son, Michael, who lives in Atlanta.
