Larry G. Ware is a Magistrate for the State of North Carolina,

serving in Cleveland County for the past twenty years. Larry is a former past President of the North Carolina Magistrates’ Association. He has served two terms on the North Carolina Magistrates’ Board of Directors.  Recently reappointed by Chief Justice, Sara Parker,

Larry is in his third term as a member of Criminal Justice Information Network Board.  He is also a member of the NC Warrant Repository Committee.

Larry is past Chairman of the Shelby Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  He served on this board for approximately twenty years.  He is a past member of the NC State Employees’ Credit Union Advisory Board.  Larry is a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church, Shelby Masonic Lodge No. 744, the Oasis Shrine Temple, member of the Scottish Rite, and member and past President of the Piedmont Shrine Club.

Larry is a life-long resident of Cleveland County.  He graduated from Shelby High School and attended Gardner Webb College.  Larry has been married to Linda Toms Ware, of Lattimore for 36 years.  His wife is a National Board Certified Teacher at Jefferson School and has taught in the Cleveland County Schools for thirty-eight years.  They have two sons, Lance and Luke, both graduates of Appalachian State University.  They also have two grandsons, Reece and Stockton Ware.  Lance teaches and coaches at Shelby High School and is married to Catherine Moore Ware, of Kings Mountain who teaches at Shelby Middle School.  Luke lives in Charlotte and is employed by Bocock Sports as a team sales representative.  Larry is an avid sports fan and was named Sports Fan of the Year for 1995.  He is the public address announcer for Shelby High School football.
