Appearance Commission

PURPOSE

The Commission shall make careful study of the visual problems and needs of the City within its area of zoning jurisdiction and shall make any plans and carry out any programs that will enhance and improve the visual quality and aesthetic characteristics of the City. 

MEMBERSHIP

The Commission is composed of twelve (12) members who must be residents of the City.  Appointments are made by City Council.

In addition, six (6) committee members of Keep Shelby Beautiful belong to the Appearance Commission.

TERMS

Board members serve three year, staggered terms.  Terms expire in January.

MEETINGS

Regular meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at George W. Clay, Jr. Utility Operations Center, 824 West Grover Street, Shelby, NC.
