KEEP SHELBY BEAUTIFUL Commission

PURPOSE

There is created an appearance commission for the city.  The appearance commission shall be called Keep Shelby Beautiful, while retaining the Keep America Beautiful affiliation.

MEMBERSHIP

The appearance commission shall consist of 14 members to be appointed by the City Council.  A fifteenth member shall be a representative of the Uptown Shelby Association.  All members shall be residents of the city’s area of planning and zoning jurisdiction or the extraterritorial jurisdiction areas (ETJ) at the time of appointment.

TERMS

Board members serve three year, staggered terms.  Terms expire in January.

MEETINGS

Regular meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at George W. Clay, Jr. Utility Operations Center, 824 West Grover Street, Shelby, NC.
