Airport Advisory Board

PURPOSE

City Council vests authority in a board to be designated as the “Shelby-Cleveland County Regional Airport Advisory Board” to serve the City Council in an advisory capacity with regard to the management, supervision, operations, control and improvements related to the Airport.

MEMBERSHIP

The Airport Advisory Board shall be composed of not less than five (5) and not more than seven (7) members, plus a representative from the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners.  Members appointed to the Board shall be residents of Cleveland County.  The members appointed need not be residents living inside the corporate limits of the City of Shelby; however, they should have some direct interest and knowledge of general aviation.

TERMS

Board members serve two year, staggered terms.  Terms expire in February.

MEETINGS

Meetings are held quarterly in January, April, July, and October or as needed at 5:30 p.m., City Hall Annex Conference Room, 315 South Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC.
