SFRD_edited The Fire & Rescue Department is an all-hazards public safety agency staffed by career personnel.  The department’s services include structural fire suppression, pre-hospital emergency medical care, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, aircraft crash fire-rescue, urban-rural interface firefighting, and a full service fire marshal’s office.

The Fire & Rescue Department delivers its operational services from three fire stations that are strategically located throughout the city and staffed 24 hours a day to ensure a rapid response of resources regardless of the emergency, the time of day, or its location.

The Fire Marshal's Office enforces Volume 5: Fire Prevention; of the North Carolina Building Code in the city's commercial and multi-family occupancies, provides community fire and life safety education initiatives, and investigates the cause and origin of fires when they occur.CFAI Logo_2014-19_Paint
